The Ukraine war has had a significant impact on global political stability. This conflict not only had an impact on conditions in Europe, but also spread to various parts of the world by changing power dynamics and international relations. One of the most striking impacts is the increasing tension between countries in the West and Russia. NATO, as a defense alliance, seeks to strengthen its presence in Eastern Europe to deter Russian expansion. This has triggered an aggressive reaction from Moscow, with consequences that could lead to a new arms race in the region. European countries increasingly support Ukraine by providing military and economic aid, creating new solidarity among them. In addition, the war in Ukraine also affects global energy policy. Europe, which is heavily dependent on Russian gas, is trying to reduce this dependence by looking for alternative energy sources. Increases in energy prices and food security in various developing countries are starting to appear. Countries such as Germany and France are increasingly investing in renewable energy, which has a direct impact on the global energy market and increases competition between energy producing countries. Apart from the economic and security impacts, this conflict affected the structure of almost all international institutions. Unity in the UN Security Council was evident with Russia’s veto, creating dissatisfaction among other members. Open negotiations to bring peace have become increasingly complex, with deepening divisions between pro-Russian and anti-Russian countries. Parallel to that, countries in Asia, such as China, are also starting to take a clearer stance. Beijing tends to support Moscow in some aspects, but still prioritizes good relations with Europe and the United States. This creates a strategic dilemma, with China wanting to maintain its position as a regional power without damaging critical trade relations with the West. The emergence of new issues such as cyber security also adds a layer of complexity to global political stability. Cyberattacks targeting both Ukraine and Western countries show that this conflict is not limited to physical fighting, but also poses significant risks to digital infrastructure. This geopolitical uncertainty has also triggered a wave of new alliances and shifts in diplomatic strategy. Countries such as India and countries in the Middle East are starting to try not to be trapped in firm blocks, maintaining a neutral foreign policy. Finally, the social impact of this war cannot be ignored either. With millions of refugees seeking refuge in neighboring countries, humanitarian issues have become an important predicate in these countries’ foreign policies. Migration and integration policies are in the main spotlight to address this challenge, which in turn can affect bilateral and multilateral relations in the region. The recovery process after conflict will require stronger international cooperation, otherwise the continued impact of this war has the potential to destroy global political stability in the long term. With international relations becoming increasingly complicated and full of tension, all parties must pay attention to the impact of their respective policies in order to create sustainable peace.
